As the landscape of modern healthcare shifts from treating disease to promoting proactive, preventative well-being, the role of functional mushrooms in longevity and healthspan has never been more relevant. While ageing remains the strongest risk factor for chronic conditions such as cardiovascular disease, osteoporosis, neurodegenerative disorders, and metabolic imbalances, emerging research highlights the profound potential of medicinal mushrooms in mitigating these risks.
Join Medical Herbalist and Naturopath Sophie Barrett for an in-depth exploration of how functional mushrooms can be harnessed to support healthy ageing, optimise resilience, and improve overall quality of life. This webinar will focus on the key bioactive compounds in mushrooms that combat inflammation, oxidative stress, and immune dysregulation; three primary drivers of age-related decline.
Beyond longevity, maintaining performance and function is essential for a vibrant, independent life as we age. Functional mushrooms offer powerful support for sustained physical endurance, cognitive sharpness, and metabolic efficiency. From Cordyceps’ role in enhancing oxygen uptake and energy production to Lion’s Mane’s neuroprotective effects in preventing cognitive decline, this webinar will explore how medicinal mushrooms can help maintain strength, mobility, mental clarity, and overall vitality well into later years.
Learn how medicinal mushrooms can enhance cognitive function, support metabolic health, promote restorative sleep, and enrich the gut microbiota; key pillars of longevity. Sophie will also highlight the adaptogenic, neuroprotective, and mood-enhancing benefits of specific mushroom strains, equipping you with the knowledge to integrate them effectively into your clinical practice.
– Understand how medicinal mushrooms target key biological pathways involved in ageing, including inflammation, oxidative stress, mitochondrial function, and immune modulation.
– Explore the evidence behind key strains (e.g., Reishi, Lion’s Mane, Cordyceps, Shiitake, and Maitake) in promoting neurological health, metabolic balance, and cardiovascular protection.
– Learn how functional mushrooms interact with the gut microbiota to enhance digestion, nutrient absorption, and systemic health.
– Discover the synergies between different mushroom strains and how combining them can amplify their health benefits.
